Automatic Insulated Door

1.
General System Description

Thermiser insulated rolling doors recommended for the exterior openings where maintaining different temperatures on each side of the door is desirable. The full perimeter seal of these energy efficient doors also reduce sound transmission compared to non-insulated rolling doors.

Features

Mounting:

Interior Face-Of-Wall mounting on Masonry or steel jambs.

Curtain:

Made of interlocking double steel flat slats No. 6F with 22 gauge Exterior skin and 24 gauge Interior skin. In-between insulation is made of 7/8 inch (22 mm) foamed-in-place, closed cell urethane compliant with UBC specification 25 and 400 for flame spread and smoke generation and meets 2003 requirement for non-ozone depleting chemicals. The "U" factor is 0.125, "R" value is 8.00 and both calculated according to ASHRAE formula. Total slat thickness is 15/16 inch (24 mm).

Curtain Finish: GalvaNex  Coating System to include a galvanized base coating treated with dual process rinsing agents in preparation of a chemical bonding, light gray baked-on polyester base coat and a light gray baked-on polyester finish coat. The scientific organic material composition and chemical bonding process of GalvaNex  produces a superior finish against corrosion and abrasion, minimum 0.6 mils (0.015 mm) cured film thickness. GalvaNex  components include a limited two year finish warranty.

Endlocks/Windlocks:

Interlocking sections are fitted with high strength endlocks on alternate slats each secured with two ¼ inch (6.35 mm) rivets. Endlocks built to maintain slat alignment and to withstand 20 PSF windload. Nylon Endlocks eliminate metal to metal contact between curtain ends and guides and provides smooth quitoperation.

Bottom Bar:

Reinforced extruded aluminum interior face with full depth insulation and exterior sking slat to match curtain material and gauge.

Bottom Bar Finish: Phosphate treatment followed by Light Gray backed-on polyester enamel coating, minimum 0.6 mils (0.015 mm) cured film thickness.

Guides:

Fabricated with minimum 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) structural steel angles. Top of inner and outer guide angles to be flared outward to form a bellmouth for smooth entry of curtain into guides.

Top of the guides are fitted with removable stoppers to prevent over travel of curtain and bottom bar.

Guides Finish: Phosphate treatment followed by Light Gray backed-on polyester powder coating, minimum 2.5 mils (0.065 mm) cured film thickness.

Counterbalance Shaft Assembly:

Barrel: Steel pipe capable of supporting curtain load with maximum deflection of 0.3 inches per foot (2.5 mm per meter) of door width.

Spring Balance: Oil-tempered, heat-treated steel helical torsion spring assembly designed for proper balance of the door to ensure that maximum effort to operate will not exceed 25 Ibs (110N). Fitted with wheel for applying and adjusting spring torque.

Brackets:

Fabricated from minimum 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) steel plate with permanently lubricated ball bearings at rotating support points to support counterbalance shaft assembly and form end closures.

Brackets Finish: Phosphate treatment followed by Light Gray backed-on polyester powder coating, minimum 2.5 mils (0.065 mm) cured film thickness.

Hood:

Coil cover (the hood) is made of 24 gauge galvanized steel with reinforced top and bottom edges. In wider doors, steel intermediate support brackets are required with minimum ¼ inch (6.35 mm) to prevent excessive sag.

Hood Finish: GalvaNex  Coating System to include a galvanized base coating treated with dual process rinsing agents in preparation of a chemical bonding, light gray baked-on polyester base coat and a light gray baked-on polyester finish coat. The scientific organic material composition and chemical bonding process of GalvaNex  produces a superior finish against corrosion and abrasion, minimum 0.6 mils (0.015 mm) cured film thickness. GalvaNex  components include a limited two year finish warranty.

Weatherstripping:

Bottom Bar:  Replaceable and compressible vinyl gasket extending into guides.
Guides: Vinyl strip sealing against fascia side of curtain.
Hood: Neoprene baffle to impede air flow above coil.

Operation:

Cornell Operator Model MGH (SGH) , high starting torque with overload protection (bracket mounted) rated 1/3, 1/2, 3/4, 1 or 2 HP, 230 Volts, Single Phase or 380 Volts (Three Phase), 50 Hz. Complete with totally enclosed motor and factory pre-wired motor controls, solenoid actuated brake, emergency manual chain hoist, and 3-button OPEN/CLOSE/STOP control station.

3.
Option
  • Door can be equipped with electric sensing edge device. Any contact before door fully closes shall cause door to immediately stop downward travel and reverse direction to the fully opened position. Provided with self-coiling cable connection to control circuit.
  • Pass Door: A hollow metal man door and hinged frame within rolling door curtain.
